10.16.21 Saturday E-Blast

October 16th, 2021
Happy Saturday NCFF!

Pretty much everyone alive has heard of the Beatles. It is absolutely crazy how far their fame has spread. Their enormous influence even led one of the “Fab Four,” John Lennon, to arrogantly boast in 1966, “Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue about that. I’m right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now.” More popular than Jesus? No way! Not then. Not now.

However, I have to begrudgingly admit, there could be a small grain of truth in what Lennon said. Here’s what I propose: The song “HEY JUDE” is more well-known and popular, than the Bible book of “JUDE.” Sorry to say, but honestly, I’m quite sure that more of us here at NCFF have heard the song, than have read the book. I would guess far more of us can quote a few memorized lyrics from HEY JUDE, than can quote a memory verse from JUDE. Here’s the truth: JUDE is the least preached book of the New Testament. Let me ask you, how many of you have ever heard a series of messages from the book of JUDE? Not too many (if any) of you are raising your hand.

That’s all about to change. At tomorrow’s worship gatherings (9:00 & 10:45am), NCFF is beginning a brand-new study in the short little epistle of JUDE. Truthfully, this part of God’s Word might be short (only 25 verses), but it packs a wallop of spiritual power and personal relevance to the needs of your life today. So much so, that I want you to pray about asking someone who doesn’t normally come to NCFF, to come with you tomorrow, either online or on-campus. Hearing God speak from JUDE is what people who have no faith need to hear in order to come to The Faith. It is also what people who are in The Faith need to hear in order to grow more faithful. Prayerfully think about who you can invite. Do what you need to do to make it inviting for them to come. And by the way, if you’ve been lazy or remiss about prioritizing church during COVID, this would be the perfect time for you to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading back to the fellowship of faith at NCFF. We are waiting to welcome you and those you invite with open arms! God has some great blessings in-store for us as we hear Him speak through JUDE.

In preparation for tomorrow, please read JUDE. Pray for the preacher (that’s me!) and for significant spiritual growth in the lives of all those (that’s you!) who will hear the messages. Invite someone and get here yourself. Jesus will meet us at NCFF tomorrow and I can’t wait to see Him by faith, and see you tomorrow, in person or online!

Luv ya!
Pastor John K. Nagle
