6.19.21 Saturday E-Blast
Happy Saturday NCFF …
Tomorrow will be a particularly blessed day for our church family. There are three reasons why I think it will be an extra special Sunday at NCFF.
First, it is Father’s Day. Now for all the cynics, I know that this is pretty much a contrived “Hallmark Holiday” and that a lot of people have had less than the best when it comes to fathers. However, the idea of honoring the ideals of fatherhood, as the Bible teaches them, is really solid and worthwhile. Plus, as children of God through Jesus, we have the Father in Heaven who is the absolute finest! The Hebrew word for our English term “daddy” is “abba.” Think of it: The Heavenly Father is your Abba … your daddy. Followers of Jesus Christ “have received a spirit of adoption as God’s children by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" (Romans 8:15).
Second, we have a celebration worship service tomorrow marking the end of our current 10-week ROOTED discipleship message series. For the past 2 ½ months, we’ve been learning what it means to follow Jesus within a community of fellow disciples sharing in the same experience of growing deeper in Christ as His disciples. We’ve all grown as we’ve heard the Sunday messages, privately spent devotional time in God’s Word and sharpened one another spiritually in our small groups. Plus, each Sunday we’ve watched some absolutely amazing video stories from men and women in our church who have come to faith in Christ and who are learning to walk in faithfulness to Christ. This Sunday we’ve got a worship service planned that has some very special aspects planned into it that will help you love Jesus more, appreciate your church family more and give you more motivation to share the Gospel with others. This Sunday will move your heart, and it is going to be a blast! 😊
Finally, I want to remind you that the Coast Pregnancy Clinic Baby Bottle Fundraiser, that started on Mother’s Day, is wrapping up this Father’s Day. NCFF and many other churches in Clatsop County have been a part of this drive to support the life affirming and life assisting ministries of the CPC. Please remember to bring back the baby bottles we distributed, filled with change. If you’re like Becky and me, for some reason, we have not had that much change in our pockets lately. So, we’re dropping a check into the bottle. This is an important way to support this great ministry of Christ in our area.
Hope to see you tomorrow as we gather around Jesus. Please join us online if you can’t make it on campus. Luv ya lots …
